UPA win symbolises mandate against communal forces-Farooq Ajmer, May 21 .National Conference president and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah today hailed the UPA's win in the Lok Sabha polls as people's mandate against communal forces. Talking to reporters here today Mr Abdullah said that Congress' pro-youth and development oriented policies and commitment for secularism and national unity paved the way for the UPA's win at the hustings. He said he was sure that common minimum programme to be implemented after the installation of new government at the Centre under the leadership of Dr Manmohan Singh would facilitate welfare of minorities. Dr Abdullah further said Prime Minister Dr Singh had assured his party and state that the new government would work to make Jammu and Kashmir a model state in the country. The NC leader remained non-commital over prospects of his inclusion in the new union cabinet and said it was the prerogative of Prime Minister Dr Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi. He also avoided reply to question over chances of Cabinet berth to young Ajmer MP Sachin Pilot, who is his son-in-law. However, Dr Abdullah observed that youngsters should be entrusted with responsibilities.
