Naveen sworn in as CM for record third time in a row  


Bhubaneswar, May 21 . Biju Janata Dal supremo Naveen Patnaik, whose party has stormed back to power with 103 out of the 147 Assembly seats, was today sworn in as Chief Minister for record third consecutive term.

The oath of office and secrecy was administered to him by Governor M C Bhandare at the Raj Bhawan here. Mr Patnaik, who is not very fluent with the local language Oriya took the oath in English.

Alongwith him, 20 other members of his Council of Ministers were also sworn in.

Those who were sworn in as Cabinet Ministers are Mr Prafulla Ghadei, Mr A U Singdeo, Mr Suryanarayan Patra, Dr Damodar Rout, Mr Raghunath Mohanty, Mr Debi Prasad Mishra, Mr Prasanna Acharaya, Ms Pramila Mallick, Mr Prafulla Samal, Mr Bikram Keshari Arukha, Mr Bijaya Ranjan Singh Bariha.

And those sworn in as Ministers of state are Mr Sanjeeb Kumar Sahoo, Mr Pratap Kumar Jena, Mr Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Ms Anjali Behera, Mr Badri Narayan Patra, Mr Sarada Prasad Nayak, Mr Puspendra Singhdeo, Mr Ramesh Chandra Majhi and Mr Pravin Kumar Bhanjdeo.

Mr Patnaik had steered his party to a landslide win playing on the regional card and assuring all-round development for the state.
