Shanta calls UPA sinking ship

Hamirpur (HP), Apr 30 . BJP vice president Shanta Kumar today described the UPA as a sinking ship and the third and fourth fronts as directionless coalitions.

Addressing a media conference here, he said most of the parties had left the UPA and the Congress was now fighting with its back to the wall.

The BJP leader said there was no scope for the third and fourth front in India as they neither have any policy nor programme.

The main aim of the parties of the two fronts was to grab the the Prime Minister's chair he claimed.

He predicted that in such a scenario the BJP-led NDA would romp home and form the next government.

The main issue in this election was corruption, he said while referring to Indian black money in Swiss bank accounts. The Congress is not sincere to get this money to the country, he alleged.

He said in event of the NDA coming to power, the money deposited in the Swiss banks would be brought back to India and utilised for the country's development.

He claimed unity in the rank-and-file of the party in the state adding that the Prem Kumar Dhumal-led HP government had done a lot for the welfare being of the masses. A pro-BJP wave was sweeping across the region, Mr Kumar added.
