Patna. The Bihar Assembly on Tuesday witnessed unprecedented chaos when members of ruling JDU and opposition RJD got entangled over the multi-crore treasury scam controversy. They not only threw chairs on each other but also used muscle power in the house.
It all happened during the second day of the ongoing Monsoon session when opposition members reached the well of the house to disrupt the proceedings of Assembly reporters and overturned the table creating a stir. On seeing this, chief minister Nitish Kumar, who has been made one of the accused of the scam, tried to stop them but they did not listen to him. Nitish was looking furious over the development and this provoked the ruling party MLAs who got involved with RJD MLAs. They attacked one another with whatever their hands chanced upon. This led to the injury of few MLAs, mostly from BJP and JDU.
Later, BJP MLA Janardan Singh Sigriwal accused RJD members for indulging in the fight. The Bihar Assembly has hardly ever seen such kind of pandemonium in the past. But, it is election year and grave financial irregularities have been unearthed in the state on which Patna High Court has already asked for CBI inquiry. The opposition members are in no mood to let the issue go out of the hand which has all the ingredients to put pressure on the chief minister and deputy chief minister.
