Patna, March 4.  A workshop on State Action Plan on Climate Change was held at the Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) on Saturday. The opening presentation in the workshop was made by Dr. Kit Nicholson, Climate Control Expert from DFID. His presentation was followed by another one by Mr. Abinash Mohanty, who had prepared the State Action Plan.

From the discussion, it emerged that the plan document should be modified so that actions for adaptation and those for mitigation are separated. There was also a suggestion that there should be efforts to promote people’s participation in actions related to climate change. The experts felt that such workshops on climate change should be more frequent to make people aware about the challenges of climate change. Those who participated in the discussion included P. P. Ghosh, Shaibal Gupta, Bharat  Jyoti, Pradhan Parthasarathi, Manish Gupta and Abhishek Pratap. The workshop ended with concluding remarks from Pankaj Kumar.
